The Bowsher and Greenlee Labs in the Department of Biological Sciences are excited to invite applications for undergraduate research positions during summer 2026. Students will assist with projects investigating the development and health of agriculturally-beneficial bee pollinators (blue orchard mason bees, Osmia lignaria; alfalfa leafcutting bees, Megachile rotundata; and honey bees, Apis mellifera). Potential research projects include: impacts of stress on performance, the role of nutrition in development, impacts of wildflower diversity in attracting pollinator species, and identifying the cellular mechanisms of aging. Projects can include field research, lab research, or a combination of both depending on student interest. Students will contribute to an active research group of insect biologists at NDSU and the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Fargo. Students will participate in weekly professional development activities, and social events including BBQs, game nights, and local outings with other researchers and mentors. At the end of the 10 week program, students will present research posters at the NDSU Undergraduate Research Symposium. Applicants must be US citizens.
