Overview

Resilience Innovation Fellows is a cohort program for GRFP Honorable Mention students at the University of New Mexico. Students from eight STEM departments will participate in professional development and training opportunities connected to the ARID (Accelerating Resilience Innovations in Drylands) Institute at UNM as a supplement to their disciplinary research within eight STEM departments. Cohort programming will introduce fellows to local communities, expand their access to research resources, and provide professional development opportunities linked to resilience research, careers, and employment. NOTE: This opportunity focuses on Geosciences as a field of study.

Eligibility

To be eligible applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria: Named a GRFP HM no more than three calendar years prior to this application (e.g., For 2025 applicants must have been named a GRFP HM no earlier than Spring 2022). GRFP HM status is subject to verification by NSF. U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident. Intend to enroll or be enrolled full-time in an EGFP designated institution/program at the start of the fellowship. Have not previously accepted a GRFP or EGFP Fellowship. Not be a current NSF employee. To be eligible for ongoing support, fellowship recipients must be enrolled full-time and make ongoing satisfactory progress toward completion of their graduate degree. Fellows must remain enrolled in the same EGFP designated degree program as when they began the Fellowship. Full-time enrollment will be certified by the institution's registrar (or equivalent). If a Fellow transfers to another institution or program, they forfeit the fellowship.
