The Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) in Engineering program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) supports authentic summer research experiences for middle and high school teachers to foster long-term collaborations between WPI, school districts, and industry partners. RET participants will enhance their scientific disciplinary knowledge in engineering and translate their research experiences into classroom activities and curricula to broaden their students’ awareness of and participation in computing and engineering pathways. The research experiences focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for an integrated approach of learning and doing science, math, and engineering through real-world problems that focus on people and the planet.
